Funeral services for David Vincent, 79, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Buffalo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Paul Stephens and James Way will officiate. Mr. Vincent died Wednesday, January 30, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Leonard and Pet Catoe Vincent. He was a supervisior at Dupont Co. at his retirement. He also was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he was very active in stewartship and served on the property committee. Mr. Vincent served as a former volunteer with Buffalo - Mt. Pisgah Fire Department and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Unied States Navy. Surviving are his wife of 60 years; Naomi Threatt Vincent of the home, his daughter; Vicky V. Blackmon and her husband Ron of Westville, his son; Steve Vincent and his wife Guadalupe of Lugoff, 4 grandchildren; Troy David Blackmon and his wife Jessica of Graceville, FL, Kaydee Vincent , Alexandra Vincent both of Lugoff and Kim Blackmon of Westville, a great granddaughter; Olivia Blackmon, 3 brothers; Clarence Vincent, Bruce Vincent, John Vincent all of Kershaw and a sister; Catherine Davis of Camden. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home, 978 Jones Rd., Kershaw.
