Obituary for David Eric Hilton
Funeral services for David Eric Hilton, 87 of Kershaw, will be held Tuesday, April 24, at 3:00 o’clock p.m., in the afternoon from the sanctuary of Providence Baptist Church. The Revs. Todd Gandy and Mike Hammond will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Monday, April 23, from 6:00 to 7:30 o’clock p.m. in the evening at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Hilton passed away, Saturday, April 21, at PalmettoHealth Richland Hospital, Columbia. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of Leonidas D. Hilton and Emily Ruth O’Banion Hilton. He retired from DuPont Co. after 33 years of service. He was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church where he had served as an elder and church treasurer for 35 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and eating homemade vanilla ice cream. Mr. Hilton was also a lifetime member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Lou West Hilton; his daughter, Linda Sue Hilton Perry and her husband Dwight of Kissimmee, FL; his 2 sons, David E. Hilton, II of Ridgeway and Steve L. Hilton and his wife Patti of Camden; 2 grandchildren, Heather Perry Doherty and her husband Philip of Tavares, FL and Sarah Hilton of Camden; a sister, Sarah H. Taylor of Greeleyville and a brother, Harry Hilton and his wife Nancy of Kershaw.
