Obituary for David C. Catoe, Sr.
Funeral services for David Custine “Red” Catoe, Sr., 80 of Fort Lawn, SC will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Cemetery. Mr. Catoe died Monday, September 23, 2013 at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Samuel Nezzie and Tressie Garris Catoe. He was a retired supervisor for Springs Industries. He loved spending time with his friends at Fort Lawn Texaco now the Marathon Station and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lola West Catoe of the home, two sons, David C. Catoe, Jr. (Juanita) of Fort Lawn, Ricky Lee Watts and his special friend, Tamzi of Pageland; nine grandchildren;15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Kever Catoe of Kershaw, Will Catoe (Joann) of Heath Springs and two sisters, Edith Burton of West Columbia and Patricia Huffstetler of Lexington. He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lloyd Catoe . The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 5170 Lancaster Highway, Fort Lawn, SC.
