Obituary for Daniel S. "Danny" Camp
Daniel S. “Danny” Camp, 73, of Blythewood, S.C., passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Lexington Medical Center, Lexington, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late, Merwin Jackson Camp and Helen Porter Camp and spent most of his life in Columbia, S.C. Mr. Camp retired as a fluid power sales engineer. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam. He was of Lutheran faith and attended Village Church, Blythewood, S.C. He was very active in the Lutheran Church and served in many capacities. He had served as Church Council and Treasurer. Mr. Camp was a past president of the South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission and a past president of the Columbia Sertoma Club. He also had served as a South Carolina High School football official. He was a huge Clemson Tiger fan.

Mr. Camp is survived by his wife, Sandy Gardner Camp, his son, Chavous (Andrea) and grandchildren, Helen and CJ; a brother, Mervin J. Camp, Jr. (Alice), a special niece, Elise and a special nephew, Anderon.

The family will receive friends, Friday evening, March 4, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Extension, Columbia, S.C. and Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, prior to the service at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.

Funeral services will be conducted, Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 210 East Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Erik Estep will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C., with military honors.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Camp may be made to Village Church, 574 Rimer Pond Road, Blythewood, S.C. 29016 or to S.C. Lutheran Men in Mission, c/o Phillipe Cote, 6405 N. Trenholm Road, Forest Acres, S.C. 29206.

The family would like to thank the MICU unit at Lexington Medical Center for their exceptional and compassionate care.
