Curtis James Hayton, passed away peacefully, on August 14, 2021.
Born March 2, 1942, he was the son of Lloyd and Anna Hayton of Penfield NY. He divided his time between Camden SC and Sodus NY.
Curt was the personification of a gentle giant. Standing at 6'6, he commanded his surroundings in a quiet way. When asked what he did for a living, he always answered "farming". But he was also a talented woodworker, could do architectural drawings, could build anything, could take a tractor apart and put it back together again, and who and what he loved, he loved unconditionally. A fine judge of character himself, and an interesting thinker, he enjoyed almost total recall and would, on occasion, astound you with a detail from 40 years ago. His integrity was unmatched and unquestioned.
In other words, the world has lost a fine man, a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.
Curt is survived by his long-time sweetheart and wife, Patricia Richardson, and extended family and friends.
Private interment was held on August 19th at the Pittsford, NY cemetery. Arrangements were directed by Baker Funeral Home of Kershaw SC and Anthony Chapels of Pittsford, NY.
