A funeral service for Corinthia Rowell Truesdale, 92, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, August 6, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Rev. Ken Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Truesdale, loving wife of the late Stephen L. Truesdale, died Thursday, August 3, at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC. Born in Trio, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Isla Rebecca Jeffords Rowell. Mrs. Truesdale was a graduate of Columbia College, Columbia, SC, and retired from the Lancaster County School district as a teacher. She was a faithful member of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She loved her family and enjoyed reading, gardening and making ceramics. Mrs. Truesdale was the last surviving child of 8 siblings.
Surviving are her children, Stephanie T. Brooks of Staunton, VA, Cynthia T. (Charles) Barnes of Denmark and Stephen L. (Sandra) Truesdale of Georgetown; her sister-in-law, Grace T. Clyburn of Kershaw; 8 grandchildren, Michael E. (Nancy) Brooks of Gainesville, GA, C. Andrew (Margaret) Brooks of Westport, CT, John Ryan Brooks of Brooklyn, NY, Grace T. (Thomas) Nims of Aspen, CO, Charles F. (Audrey) Barnes of Pelion, Terri T. (Steven) Watson of Aiken, Corey C.(Alex) Getson of Raleigh, NC and Blair A. Truesdale of Georgetown and 20 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, August 6, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
