Mrs. Ogburn, loving wife of the late Thomas Corinda “T.C.” Ogburn went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 21, at KershawHealth, Camden.
Colleen was the daughter of the late James Austin Belk, Sr. and Alice Loretta Catoe Belk. She was born in the White Plains Community of Chesterfield County. As a young girl the family moved to the Mt. Pisgah Community where she resided the rest of her years. She graduated from Mt. Pisgah High School. She attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was very active in WMU, Young at Heart, and worked in the nursery for many years. She worked as a seamstress with various local companies and for Ada’s Flower Shop in Jefferson. She enjoyed keeping her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as others, in her home.
She spent her life devoted to her family. She held fast to her hope and faith in Christ and, as a devout Christian, showed great compassion for others in her lifetime. She was a good friend, a faithful wife, and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her four children, Joseph C. Ogburn, Betty O. (Harold) Gardner, Charles L. (Charlotte) Ogburn, and James F. “Freddie” Ogburn; 10 grandchildren, Danielle (Tyler) Champion, Caroline Gardner, Corey (Meg) Gardner, Kalena (Jason) Reeves, Shea (CJ) Roberts, Bree (Andy) Melton, Allyson (Calvin Roberts) Crenshaw, Vanessa (Matt Quinn) Ogburn, Tricia (Matt Massey) Ogburn, Jerry Waldrop; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ina Horton; and two sisters-in-law, Loretta Belk and Clarine (Marvin) Bradley all from Kershaw. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James A. “Jimmy” Belk Jr., a sister, Laura Horton, and a grandson, Terry Waldrop.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund, 2140 McBee Highway, Jefferson, SC 29718.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff of the A. Sam Karesh Long-term Care and Compassionate Care Hospice for the love and care shown to Mrs. Ogburn and the entire family.
