A service to celebrate the life of Clifton “ Cliff ” Redick, 76, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in First Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Doug Martin will officiate. Burial will be private prior to the service in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Redick died Sunday, April 15, at his home. Born in the Timrod Community of Bethune, he was the son of the late Daniel and Willie Mae Watkins Redick. He retired from Bowater after 40 years. Mr. Redick served as a deacon of Bethany Baptist Church, Youth Leader and Church Training Director while he was a member. He also served on the board of directors for the Kershaw Co. Recreation Department. He was a member of Abney Lodge # 211, Hejaz Temple and Kershaw Shrine Club. Mr. Redick served our county by serving in the National Guard for 26 years. He owned and operated the Winners Circle Sporting Goods Store in Kershaw for a number of years and currently owned and operated Superior Dry Cleaners with his wife. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Williams Redick of the home; 4 children, Russell “Rusty” W. Redick of Kershaw, Cecelia R. Hernandez (Tony) of Lake Wylie, Chris M. Redick (Robin) of Kershaw, Renee R. Stover (Clarence) of Heath Springs; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Catoe of Bethune, his uncle Ted Watkins (Joy) of Bethune and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home, 8680 Kershaw-Camden Highway., Kershaw.
