Christine Keene Young

A service to celebrate the life of Christine L. Keene Young, 57 of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, in the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church, Westville.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church Family Life Center.

A private burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Young died Friday, August 12, Born in South Bend, Indiana, she was a daughter of Bonnie VanDusen Keene and the late Carlton Lauren Keene. She was an employee of the Kershaw News Era, where she loved selling advertisements and layout design. Though, born a Yankee, Chris was a southerner at heart. She created a home populated with a family of dear friends. She touched the lives and hearts of many with her smile, songs and faith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother of Camden; a daughter, Lindsay Kirchhoff and her husband Matt; a son, Andrew Potter and his wife Chimere; two grandchildren; a sister, Beth Trautman and her husband Shawn Blankenship; 2 nephews and a niece.
