Obituary for C. L. Sims
A funeral service for C.L. Sims, 66 of Westville, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, September 11, in Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Todd Gandy and Tommy Bowers will officiate.
Mr. Sims died Monday, September 7, at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late Herbert and Alice Catoe Sims. Mr. Sims was retired and a member of Refuge Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family. Mr. Sims was also a United States Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Voncile B. Sims; two sons, Chris Bowers and his wife Lee and Gil Sims; a daughter, Leann Carnes and her husband Craig; three grandchildren, Wade Bowers, Cody Carnes and Jordin Carnes; two brothers, James Sims of Flat Creek and Coleman Sims of Great Falls; two sisters, Sybil Pittman of Flat Creek and Jeanie Geddings of Paxville and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maghan Bowers; three brothers, Edward, Leroy and Wade Sims and two sisters, Bertha Knight and Mildred Ogburn.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10. The family is at the home, 335 Payne Pond Road, Westville.
