Obituary for Brenda O. Blackmon
Brenda Outen Blackmon, 71, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Sunday evening, February 28, 2021, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Odell Outen and Agnes Sullivan Outen. She was a graduate of Flat Creek High School. Ms. Blackmon was formerly employed with Lancaster County School District where she worked in the cafeteria at Andrew Jackson High School. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bird watching and working in her flower gardens.
Surviving is her companion, Wayne Moseley; 2 daughters, Angie (Phil) Rutledge and Michelle (Jason) Reeves; a son, Bryan Blackmon; 5 grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Walden, Brittany (Mitchell) Jordan, Kristen (Joe) Stevens, Lee Blackmon and Ayden Blackmon; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Bowers and a brother, Richard Outen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lee Blackmon; 2 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Everette Outen, W.L. Outen, J.L. Outen, Oscar “Pete” Outen and Wayne Outen and a sister, Sylvia Ann Small.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2021, in Flint Ridge Baptist Church Family Life Center, Heath Springs, S.C. Preacher Cotton Pate will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends and family following the committal service in the cemetery.
