Obituary for Billy Martin Bowers, Sr.
A memorial service to remember and reflect the life of Billy Martin Bowers, Sr., 63, of Kershaw will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Pastor Cotton Pate will officiate. Mr. Bowers died Saturday, July 5, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Frank Robert and Floried Robertson Bowers. He was a former truck driver for Cal-Maine Foods. Mr. Bowers enjoyed painting cars and was a skilled craftsman. He also attended Frontline Biker Church. Surviving are his son, Billy M. Bowers, Jr. of Kershaw; three sisters, Glenda B. Clyburn of Kershaw, Margie B. Outen and her husband Wayne of Sumter, Anna B. Owens and her husband Mike of Kershaw; two grandsons, Jacob and Casey Bowers; a sister-in-law, Sybil Bowers of Rock Hill, a number of nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Pamela Stephenson of Kershaw. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Franklin Bowers. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister, Anna Owens, 306 West Church St., Kershaw.
