Obituary for Billy Griggs Poston
Billy Griggs Poston, 80 of Kershaw, S.C., passes away, Thursday evening, October 14, 2021, at his home. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Bud Poston and Rumsey Holden Poston. Mr., Poston retired from the former Lehigh Steel. He enjoyed fishing and working on tractors. He also loved going to car shows and his 1938 Oldsmobile he restored. Mr. Poston served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Starnes Poston and his son, Billy Griggs Poston, Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Loflen, Lessie Lee Blackmon, Willie Robert Jim Poston, Ira B. Poston, Baby Boy Poston, Daniel Charles Poston, Ward Sidney Poston and Hazel Poston.
Funeral services for Mr. Poston will be conducted, Sunday afternoon, October 17, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Wright will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church Cemetery with Military honors.
The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
