A memorial service to remember the life of Billy Gene Wallace, 79, of the Flat Creek community, Kershaw, S.C. will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, January 13, in the sanctuary of Flat Creek Baptist Church. The Revs. Bart Miles and Kirk Faulkenberry will officiate.
Mr. Wallace passed away Wednesday, January 10. Born in the White Bluff community of Kershaw, he was a son of the late Henry Oscar Wallace, Sr. and Grace Horne Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a carpenter, a US Army veteran and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He loved taking care of his dog “Daisy" and his cat “Katie”. He also enjoyed working in his garden, baseball and watching Monday night football. He was preceded in death by his wife Vonzie Mosteller Wallace.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Carla (Billy) Faulkenberry, Martha (George) Roberts, Kelly (Dirk) Singer; his son, Paul Wallace; 7 grandchildren, Rev. Kirk Faulkenberry, Kody Faulkenberry, Erin Sutton, Pace Roberts, Tara Roberts, Josie Singer and Ryan Singer; 2 great grandchildren, Wade Sutton and Hayden Phillips; his sister, Mabel Louise (Harry) Stoddard; 2 brothers, Henry Oscar (Betty) Wallace, Jr., Steve (Elizabeth) Wallace and a number of nieces and nephews. Also, surviving is his children's mother, Carolyn Volee Timko
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 3737 Victory Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of his daughter Martha Roberts.
