Obituary for Billy Carroll Jewett
Billy Carroll Jewett, 73, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Sunday evening, December 12, 2021, at his home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Luther Benson Jewett and Maybelle Montgomery Jewett. Mr. Jewett was a truck driver and a member of Grace Baptist Church, McBee, S.C. He loved to feed the birds, squirrels and watch the deer. He also enjoyed working in his shop. Mr. Jewett served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Hunter Jewett; his son, Lane Kyle Jewett of the home and his girlfriend, Gretchen Webb; 3 brothers, Robert (Emanuela) of Trieste, Italy, Mike (Jennifer) Jewett of Lancaster, S.C., Gerald (Janice) Jewett of Kershaw, S.C.; 3 sisters, Theo (Bobby) Stroud of Kershaw, S.C., Linda (Kenneth) Bradley of Charlotte, N.C and Judy (Frank) Cottone of Florence, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Erline Jewett Boltz and 2 brothers, Albert Jewett and Randolph Jewett.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday afternoon, December 16, 2021, at 2:00 P.M.in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with military honors. Pastor Wesley Webb will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be private in Abney Baptist Church Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C.
