Obituary for Billie Morgan Welsh
A funeral service for Billie Morgan Welsh, 85 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 1:00 o’clock p.m. in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Saturday, February 21, 2015. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Todd Montgomery will officiate. Mrs. Welsh, widow of Thomas Jennings “Tom” Welsh died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, in Lancaster Convalescent Center, Lancaster, SC. Born in Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Anna Matilda Horton Morgan. Mrs. Welsh retired from J.C. Penny Co. She was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church where she had worked with the youth. She also was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and enjoyed giving of her time to help others. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Hinson and her husband Larry of Aiken, SC; her son, Thomas J. “Tommy” Welsh and his wife Cheryl of Kershaw, SC; three grandchildren, J. Matthew Hinson, Elizabeth Marie Hinson both of Aiken, SC, Jennifer Scott and her husband Joel of Kershaw, SC; two great grandchildren, Natalee Ann Reese and Lucas Edwin Reese both of Kershaw, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clemmie Morgan and a sister, “Tannie” Dunn. The family will receive friends, Friday, February 20, 2015, from 6:00 to 7:30 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Billie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, 3795 Pleasant Plains Rd., Kershaw, SC 29067. Baker Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Welsh.
