Betty Veal Williams

A funeral service for Betty Veal Williams, 69 of Kershaw, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Thursday, October 15, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Bobby Massey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, October 12, at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Pearl Ledford Veal. Mrs. Williams retired from Duracell and was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved to shop, always buying for others and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Howard D. Williams of the home; 3 daughters, Tammy W. Adams and her husband Scott of Lexington, Kim W. Starnes and her husband Phillip of Heath Springs and Terra W. Catoe and her husband Danny of Bethune; 7 grandchildren, Micah Adams, Nikki Adams, Kayla Starnes, Katlyn Starnes, Jessica (Jacob) Rogers, Summer Catoe and Justin Catoe; a great granddaughter, Harper Mae Rogers and a sister, Elizabeth (Eddie) Wallace of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, David Veal, Tom Veal, James Veal, Ricky Veal and Fred Veal and 2 sisters, Martha Turner and Nellie Hasty.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, October 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock p.m., at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 304 South Matson Street, Kershaw.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Kershaw, SC 29067.
