Obituary for Betty Jean Robertson
Betty Jean Faulkenberry Roberson, of Kershaw, passed away peacefully at the age of 85, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was the daughter of the late James Melvin and Maggie Catoe Faulkenberry. Betty was the widow of Billy Jack Robertson. She was a retired telephone operator having worked for the Kershaw Telephone Company for 19 years and the Lancaster Telephone Company for 10 years. Betty will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her sense of humor, her generous spirit and her infectious laugh.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen F. Hunter, Pauline F. Williams and her brother, John E. “Bud” Faulkenberry.
She is survived by her children, Jerry “Cooter” Robertson of Kershaw and Deb Rosengrant of Lexington and by her sister, Mary F. “Jim” Stroud of Camden.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 o’clock a.m., Friday morning, August 17, 2018, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Betty’s nephew, Mr. Ronnie Stroud will officiate. The family will speak with friends following the service at the cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, from 12:00 o’clock noon until 5:00 o’clock p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
