Obituary for Betty Jean Reeves
Betty Jean Taylor Neal Reeves, 87, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday afternoon, March 28, 2022, at Hospice and Community Care, Rock Hill, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Katherine T. Taylor. She retired from Springs Industries after 45 years of service. Mrs. Reeves was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Elliott Reeves; a son, Lexie Michael “Mike” Neal and his wife, Wanda; a daughter, Beth Porter and her husband, Justin; 5 grandchildren, Lexie Gean LaSan, Wesley LaSan, Autumn Porter, Gunner Porter and Garrison Porter; 2 great grandchildren, Laina LaSan and Shyia LaSan; a daughter-in-law, Diana Neal; 3 sisters, Leacy Coates, Reba Coats and Annie Ruth Cauthen and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her second husbands’ children, Dale Reeves and his wife, Julie; Cheri R. Frost and their children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lexie Mahoney Neal, a sister, Sarah Hough; her son, Alex Neal and her step son-in-law, Mike Frost.

A graveside service will be held, Friday morning, April 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M.in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Reeves may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
