Obituary for Audrey Neal Pitts
A funeral service for Audrey Ethleen Neal Pitts, 89 of Heath Springs, SC, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, in the sanctuary of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverends Kelvin Hinson and David Stover will officiate. Mrs. Pitts was welcomed home to be with Jesus on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015, with her family by her side at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Effie Bowers Neal. Mrs. Pitts retired from Skyline Limited and was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. She loved to work in her flower gardens, cooking and writing in her many journals. She also loved to play the piano and sing. Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Thomas Pitts, Sr.; two daughters, Linda Duncan Stover and her husband Lanny of Heath Springs, Cindy Robinson and her husband Donald of Lancaster; two sons, Tommy Pitts and his wife Sue of Heath Springs, Lewie Pitts and his wife Robin of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, David Stover and his wife Emily, Lana Stover, Kami Fletcher and her husband Dean, Allison Bailey, Andy Pitts and his wife Rebecca, Benji Robinson, Greta Robinson, Jason Pitts and his wife Jesslee, Leslie Hunt and her husband Pete and Matthew Pitts; fifteen great grandchildren, Katelyn Stover, Mary Ellen Hobbs, Jonathan Stover, Jacob Stover, Marissa Fletcher, Lexi Fletcher, Greyson Bailey, Mallory Pitts, Mason Pitts, Ava Hunt, Coleman Hunt, Audrey Hunt, Claire Hunt, Roddy Pitts and Lily Pitts. In addition to her mother and father, Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Duncan, Jr. who was killed in World War II in the South Pacific, five brothers, Eulece, Brasca, Connie, Eugene and Mahoney Neal and two sisters, Dessie Neal Efird and Evelyn Neal Doby. The family will receive friends following the graveside committal service in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home of her son, Tommy, 1808 Dean Lane, Heath Springs, SC. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Pitts may be made to Flint Ridge Baptist Church, 1850 Flint Ridge Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058. Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw is serving the family of Mrs. Pitts.
