Mrs. Allie Mae Starnes Mackey, 91, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Saturday morning, June 11, 2022, at her home. She was born in Lancaster, S.C., May 5, 1931, to the late George Roscoe Starnes and Allie Snipes Starnes. Mrs. Mackey retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star, Heath Springs Chapter, # 259.
Surviving are 3 sons, Allen (Pam) Mackey of Charlotte, N.C., Scott (Cheryl) Mackey of Columbia, S.C., and Robin (Linda) Mackey of Camden; 1 daughter, Sue Mackey of Heath Springs, S.C.; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Mackey was married to the late Poovey Mackey and was raised by the late Edward and Blondie Adams. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Starnes and W.B. Starnes.
A private family service will be held, and she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
