Obituary for Allan W. Catoe
Funeral services for Allan Wayne Catoe, 69 of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Monday, April 30, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 210 N. Matson St., Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Westville, SC. The Revs. Brian Saxon and Michael Owens will officiate.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, April 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

Mr. Catoe died suddenly, Thursday, April 26. Born in Camden, he was a son of Mary Elizabeth Gibson Catoe and the late Boykin Catoe. He retired from DuPont Company. Mr. Catoe enjoyed coaching basketball for over 40 years, raising homing pigeons and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Lancaster and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Sue Mackey Catoe of the home; 2 sons, Grady Catoe and his wife Jenny of Hudson, OH, Dustin Catoe and his wife Stacie of Kershaw; step-daughter, Lona Adams Watts and her husband Brian of Lancaster; step-son, Jonathan Mark Carter of Heath Springs; grandchildren, Maddie, Gracie, Sawyer, Sarah Beth, Dustin, Wesley (due June 2018), Alexis and Garrett; 2 brothers, Jerry Catoe, John Lee Catoe and a sister, Suzanne Twitty all of Kershaw. He was preceded in death addition to his father by a infant sister and his sister, Darlene Keiningham.
