Obituaries

Funeral services for Myrtis Cranford “Mert” Humphries, 65, will be held Thursday, February 4, at 3:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, SC with burial to follow in Shamrock Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. John Hamilton will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 3, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity one's choice.

Mrs. Humphries, widow of Theodore Humphries, died Sunday, January 31, 2010. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Annie Lou Anderson Cranford. Mrs. Humphries was a retired sales clerk with Gilmer Package Shop and a member of Shamrock Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Michael Gilmer and his wife, Katherine of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 granddaughters, Michelle and Tracy; brother, Henry Cranford of the home; sisters, Edna Boan of Camden, Juanita Outlaw of Bishopville, and Mary Sue Ferguson of Kershaw; and several nieces and nephews.
