Obituary for Woodrow Thomas Pitts, Sr.
Funeral services for Woodrow Thomas Pitts, Sr., 93, of Heath Springs, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, November 5, in the sanctuary of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Kelvin Hinson, Rev. David Stover and Mr. Lewie Pitts will officiate. Burial will follow the service with Military honors in the church cemetery.

Mr. Pitts died Wednesday evening, November 1, at Providence Hospital, Columbia. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late Henry and Thelma Knight Pitts. He retired from J. P. Stevens and was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. He also served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Duncan Stover of Heath Springs, Cindy Robinson and her husband Donald of Lancaster; 2 sons, Tommy Pitts and his wife Sue of Heath Springs, Lewie Pitts and his wife Robin of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, David (Emily) Stover, Lana Stover, Kami (Dean) Fletcher, Allison Bailey, Andy (Rebecca) Pitts, Benji Robinson, Greta Robinson, Jason Pitts, Leslie (Pete) Hunt and Matthew Pitts; 16 great grandchildren, Katelyn (Andrew) Orton, Mary Ellen (Matt) Hobbs, Jonathan Stover, Jacob Stover, Marissa (Clint) Wallace, Lexi Fletcher, Greyson Bailey, Mallory Pitts, Mason Pitts, Ava Hunt, Coleman Hunt, Audrey Hunt, Claire Hunt, Roddy Pitts, Lily Pitts and Maggie Pitts; 2 sisters, Lucille P. Owens of Kershaw and Margaret P. Tucker of Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Neal Pitts; a sister, Alma Lucas and a son-in-law, Lanny Stover.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, November 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the home of Tommy and Sue Pitts, 1808 Dean Lane, Heath Springs and following service in the church Family Life Center.
