Obituary for William Alan Patterson
A memorial service to remember the life of William Alan Patterson, 74, of Westville, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, January 31, in the sanctuary of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church, Liberty Hill. Rev. Dorothy Killian and Rev. Dave Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following in Bettie Richards Hall at the church. Mr. Patterson died Saturday, January 20, at his home. Born in Asheboro, NC, he was a son of the late William Clyde and Goldie Lee Allen Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a horse trainer and horse farm owner for many years. He won the 1985 World Championship in the 3000 dollar division. He was also a member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Sylvia Ann Orr Patterson of the home; his son Scott Tyler “Ty” (Kari Voyles) Patterson; a grandson, Gaven Patterson and a granddaughter, Kaci Davis-Patterson. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his sister, Margo Toni Patterson.
