Obituary for Robert Heyward Estridge
A funeral service for Robert Heyward Estridge, 75, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, in the sanctuary of Midway Baptist Church. The Revs. Steve Warren and Todd Gandy will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Estridge, widower of Mary Jeanne Blackmon Estridge died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at his home. Born in Kershaw, SC, he was a son of the late Ernest Christopher and Viola Morgan Estridge. He retired from E. I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. Mr. Estridge was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church where he had served as an usher and trustee. He loved to fish and play the guitar. He also was a graduate of Flat Creek High School.
Surviving are his son, Robbie Estridge and his wife Jennie of Kershaw, SC; his daughter, Donna E. Howard and her husband Todd of Mooresville, NC; his 3 grandchildren, Cameron Howard, Connor Howard and Emma Grace Estridge; 2 brothers, Lewis Edwin Estridge and Frank Estridge; a sister, Virginia Lee Faile and her husband S.W. ; a sister-in-law, Harriett Estridge and a brother-in-law, Cecil Wayne Williams. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul Baxter Estridge and William C. Estridge and 2 sisters, Edna Estridge and Pauline E. Williams.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son.
