Obituary for Ola Gainey Eason
Funeral services for Ola Gainey Eason, 69, of Kershaw, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, where she was a member. The Revs. Terry Corder and Todd Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Eason died Thursday, August 23, 2018. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Walker and Sadie Cassidy Gainey. Mrs. Eason devoted her life to children. She worked at Jo’s Giant Steps, Adventures In Leaning and currently for A Step Above Child Development Center. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. Mrs. Eason was a Carolina Gamecock fan and loved Tweety Bird and Sunflowers.

Surviving are her daughter, Pamela E. Horton and her husband, Todd of Lugoff; her son, Ben A. Eason, III and his wife, Jodi of Heath Springs; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Horton, Jordan Eason, Hunter Horton, Morgan Eason and Luke Eason; siblings, Lila Shepard of Conyers, GA, Reba Autrey of Pelion, Evelyn Hammond of Lexington, W.J. “Dub” Gainey, Jr. of Lancaster, Pat Carnes of Lancaster, Benny Gainey of Bethune, Jean Farmer of Bethune and Wanda Hunphrey of Camden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Alexander Eason, Jr.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, August 25, one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at 3450 Knot Lane, Heath Springs.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Eason may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
