Obituary for Jerry R. Scott
Funeral services for Jerry Ronald Scott, age 69, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Monday, May 29, 2017, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Joe Stines, Bart Miles and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Scott died Friday, May 26, 2017, at his home. Born in Camden, SC, he was a son of the late Ernest Barnwell and Alma Christine Payne Scott. He retired from Dupont Co. and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. He loved to fish and enjoyed antique cars, especially his 1958 Chevrolet Impala. Mr. Scott loved attending his grandchildren’s events.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Byrd Scott; 2 sons, Stacy Jerry (Susan) Scott and Jonathan Paul (Audra) Scott; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Brooke Scott, Farren Alexa Scott, Ethan Barnwell Scott, Dwayne William Ray and Adrianna Elizabeth Ray; a brother, Harold Scott and 2 sisters, Patricia Faulkenberry (Wayne) Hinson and Susan Rollings. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jackie Donald Scott.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, May 28, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
