Obituary for Inez S. Horton
Funeral services for Inez Sims Horton, 93, of Kershaw, S.C., will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, December 31, 2017, in the sanctuary of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church. The Revs. Todd Montgomery and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Horton, loving wife of the late Ross D. Horton died Friday, December 29, 2017, at her home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Marion and Beulah Hilton Sims. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Horton loved spending time with her family, cooking, sewing and gardening. She was also a graduate of Flat Creek High School.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Elaine H. (Mike) Payne, Betsy H. (Jack) Kerns; 2 sons, David D. (Anne) Horton and Dean (Renee) Horton; a son-in-law, Mike Funderburk; 11 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; a brother, James Sims and a sister, Daisy Couch. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail H. Funderburk; a grandson, John Ross Kerns; 2 brothers, Jack Sims, Junior Sims and a sister, Katherine Sowell.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 31, 2017, from 2:00 to 3:00 o’clock p.m. in the sanctuary of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 916 Baxley Pond Road, Kershaw, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
