Obituary for Greg A. Cook
A funeral service for Gregory Alan “Greg” Cook, 28, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Monday March 19, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 210 N. Matson St., Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Pastor-Teacher Rhonda McClain and Rev. Robin Hewitt will officiate.

The family will greet friends following the committal at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor St., Kershaw.

Mr. Cook passed away, Wednesday, March 14, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Darryl Mobley Cook and Clara Alice Sanderson Cook. Greg was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School where he played baseball and was a 4 year starter. He also graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He was an avid outdoorsman and a talented woodworker. Greg loved his beloved champion retriever “That Lady Girl” and enjoyed Field Trial Competitions. He was also an avid Carolina Gamecock sports fan. Greg was currently employed as a Deputy Sergeant at Arms for the South Carolina Senate and also worked for C.L. Cromer Construction.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Kershaw are 2 brothers, Robert Benjamin Cook and his wife Amy of Mt. Pleasant, Bob Mobley Cook and his wife Madison of Fort Mill; his nephew, Conor Benjamin Cook; his uncle, Bobby Keith Cook, Jr. of Kershaw and his grandmother, Irene Cook of Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Sanderson, his paternal grandfather, Bobby K. Cook, Sr. and his paternal grandmother, Jean Mobley Cook.

Memorial contributions in memory of Greg may be directed to The Greg Cook Memorial Fund, c/o First Citizens Bank, 302 N. Hampton Street, Kershaw, SC 29067. Contributions will be donated to various entities and activities that Greg loved and supported throughout his lifetime.
