Obituary for Charles T. Hunter
A service to celebrate the life of Charles Theron Hunter, 82, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. The Revs. Bobby James and Joe Stines will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hunter died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his home. Born in Kershaw, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel Haile and Carrie Knight Hunter. He retired 38 years of service as a supervisor for Springs Industries. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and Abney Masonic Lodge # 211. Mr. Hunter also loved to fish, hunt and bowl.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Ottey Horton Hunter of the home; 4 children, Pamela H. (Rick) Coates of Kershaw, SC, Karen H. (Mac) Faulkenberry of Camden, SC, Jeffrey (Billie Jean) Hunter of Coward, SC and Sherri H. (Barry) Steele of Kershaw, SC; 8 grandchildren, Kyle Coates, Dru Hunter, Kayla S. (Ben) Hines, Wesley Faulkenberry, Austin Steele, Brooke (Jake) Chamberlain, Hunter Evans and Bobbie Faulkenberry and 4 great grandchildren, Luke Faulkenberry, Jake Faulkenberry, Cameron Hunter and Jackson Chamberlain.
The family will receive friends, Monday, June 5, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
